Be Joyful

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the PEACE OF GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

These are verses I memorized years ago and they are written on my heart. There are times when I still need to remember not to be anxious, but I eventually listen to my heart saying these verses. I didn't really understand what the "peace of God" was until I experienced it. It's having peace inside you, even when you're going through heartbreaking situations and trials. It does "surpass ALL understanding" and you know it comes from GOD alone. Praise the Lord for His wonderful promises!

I love, love, love what I do. I am passionate about the things I create and the talents God has placed in me. I SO appreciate the time you take to look at my things and the comments you all leave me!

Blessings to you!

Berry Sweet Basket

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for a little Heartfelt Creations inspiration! This week I have a cute basket made with the Berry Cafe Collection!

I wish pictures would do this justice! The contrast of the red and white with the designer papers is so beautiful in real life! If you click on the photo, you can get a closer view of the basket.

I've had this basket tutorial pinned for quite a while and have been wanting to try this out. I thought it would be perfect with the Berry Cafe Collection of berries and flowers.

Here's a slightly different view of the basket where you can see the inside a little bit.

The base of the basket is made with Ruby Slipper cardstock and decorated with white cardstock and the Berry Cafe Paper Collection. I love this little basket and it really wasn't too hard to put together once I figured out the measurements from metric. These would make really cute gift baskets, especially for Mother's Day coming up!

The tutorial I used can be found here on Wenche Wold's Blog. Thank you Wenche for sharing your tutorial!

Instructions: Basket measures 4" x 4" and is 8 1/2" high including handle. I used this http://wenchespapirverden.blogspot.com/2013/05/tutorial.html tutorial to make this basket. I converted the measurements from her metric ones to the following: cut Ruby Slipper 12" x 12", score at 4" and 8", turn and repeat scoring. Follow her instructions for cutting the flaps on each side.

Cut the large (12" x 12") designer paper sheet (pictured) as follows: 5 - 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" and 2 - 7/8" x 12". Cut the 2 small (6" x 6") designer paper sheets of the same design as follows: 12 - 7/8" x 4 1/8". Ink all edges of designer papers with Shabby Shutters.

Cut white cardstock as follows: 12 - 1 3/4" x 4 1/8" and 1 - 1 3/4" x 12". Punch all long edges of the white pieces with the edge punch on both sides. (Note: the width of these pieces will depend on the edge punch you use as stated in her tutorial. The punch I used needed to be 1 3/4" wide in order to be 1 1/4" wide after punching. You will need to test this out on scrap paper in order to get the fit you want for your edge punch.)

Glue the 5 designer paper squares to the inside of the basket leaving two top, center sides unglued to insert the handles in. Glue the white and designer paper strips together centering them.

Follow the tutorial instructions for adhering the short strips to the outside of the basket sides. Assemble the basket and adhere together using Scor-Tape. Finish adhering the strips on outside of basket per the tutorial. Add handle with Scor-Tape inserting in unglued space between the designer paper and basket side. Add lace and trim on top edge of basket using Scor-Tape. Cut Ruby Slipper cardstock 3/8" wide and add to bottom of basket using 1/8" Scor-Tape to give the basket a finished look on the bottom. Make 2 multi-loop bows with red gingham ribbon and add to base of handle on each side using glues dots.

Stamp Berry Blossom Cling on Solar White with Black Onyx stamping off the color on scrap paper first to get a softer shade of black. Select two small blooms, spritz lightly with water on backs and shape with Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit. Once dry, add Heart of Gold Prills to centers using Art Institute Glue. Glue to bow centers once dry using glue dots.

Berry Sweet - Berry Cafe Collection

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for the new release of the Berry Cafe Collection!

Warm breezes blow, busy bees buzz from blossom to blossom, and perfectly shaped, ripe berries beckon you as you catch a glimpse of them through the vines winding their way up the rickety old picket fence in the picture perfect garden patch. Bring back fond memories of strawberry picking while the early morning dew still lingered on the vines with the new release by Heartfelt Creations. The Berry Cafe Collection will have you reminiscing of filling pails until overflowing while playing the game of "two for me" and "one for the pail", which always led to the task taking a tad longer. Travel back in time to the days of your childhood where you shared your first strawberry milkshake, or float at the local ice cream parlor with that special someone you so adored. Filled with sweet illustrations of vining strawberries, adorable children, elegant blossoms, old fashioned strawberry stands as well as delicately patterned papers featuring eyelet prints, soft checks, ornate borders and delicious clusters of strawberries nestled among flowers, you are certain to find yourself warming in the berry patch and hankering for a cold strawberry treat. Happy hues of pinks, reds, yellows, blues and greens create a cheerful color palette that is sure to make your heart sing the songs of summer. Five extraordinary cling stamp sets allow you to recreate all of the memories of strawberry picking and enjoying the fruit from the vine. Color and shape your way to a lush and productive garden plot where blossoms and fruit abound, being careful to avoid the ever busy bees. After all of the toiling and care, reap your rewards, head on over to the fruit stand where anxious passerby’s will be ready to invest in your delicious crop...and once the day is done, grab a friend and treat yourselves to that special strawberry flavored treat with a generous helping of whipped topping! We present to you the ideal collection to welcome summer!

I just love this sweet collection! Some adorable images of little girls and boy, ice cream, strawberries - perfect collection for summer!

Here is my card for today!

I used the Berry Cafe Paper Collection and one of the Cut Mat Create Dies to create the "frame" for the card. The images are from 3 different stamps sets that I colored with pencils and mineral spirits. I love this combination of red, pink and light aqua, so cheery looking!

The flowers, strawberry swirls, sentiment ticket and the cute little girl are all cut with matching dies...makes things so much easier and fun to create with! The little flower spray on the top right corner was fussy cut and added...I didn't have the right color embellishments so I decided to do this instead!

Be sure to visit the Heartfelt Creations Blog to see all the beautiful work by the designers this week! Also, Emma Lou has a wonderful video for you using this collection showing you a quick and easy coloring technique using inks, sponge daubers and the Dove Blender Pen.

I'm submitting this to the following challenge:
