Be Joyful

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the PEACE OF GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

These are verses I memorized years ago and they are written on my heart. There are times when I still need to remember not to be anxious, but I eventually listen to my heart saying these verses. I didn't really understand what the "peace of God" was until I experienced it. It's having peace inside you, even when you're going through heartbreaking situations and trials. It does "surpass ALL understanding" and you know it comes from GOD alone. Praise the Lord for His wonderful promises!

I love, love, love what I do. I am passionate about the things I create and the talents God has placed in me. I SO appreciate the time you take to look at my things and the comments you all leave me!

Blessings to you!

Thinking of You

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for some Heartfelt Creations inspiration!  This week I used the Majestic Morning Accents Set and Tombow Markers!

I almost always use pencils and mineral spirits for coloring images, but this week I wanted to try something different.  So this time I embossed the image with gold embossing powder on watercolor paper and colored it with Tombow Markers using water and a water brush.  It's not too bad, but I think I'll stick with pencils!

After coloring the image, I die cut it with an oval die, added a scalloped oval cut from the designer paper, and then  Floral Oval die cut from cream card stock.  Behind the image I added an embossed green mat and some of the pretty plaid designer paper.  To finish the card, I added gold microbeads, some matching ribbon, pearls, button, and a tag cut from the designer paper.

Here's a little close up of the image.

Be sure to visit the HC Blog to see the beautiful creations by the designers this week and also a sneak peak of the release for February, "Raindrops on Roses"!  I LOVE the colors and images for this new collection!

Majestic Birthday

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for a little Heartfelt Creations inspiration!  For my birthday card today I'm using the Majestic Morning Blooms and Vintage Morning Background Sets.

This week I decided to use golden yellows and black which I think is a striking combination.  The image is colored with pencils and mineral spirits and fussy cut.  I added a 2 flowers to the image and another to the bow center.  The card mat, small green mat, and the birthday tag are all pieces cut from the designer paper.  The possibilities are endless with the beautiful papers!

Behind the green mat are 2 Decorative Chateau Gate Die cuts in black.  This is an older die that I still absolutely love!  It's striking against the yellow/orange background!

Sweet Love Birdcage & Frame

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Today I have another CottageCutz project for you!  This time I have a card using 2 new dies from the Sweet Love Release, Sweet Love Birdcage and Sweet Love Frame.

Wouldn't this be perfect for a Valentine's Day Card?  I love the pink and brown color combo together with cream.

I die cut the birdcage with Natural White and Early Espresso card stock, trimmed the Natural White bird and "love" pieces from the main die cut, and inked them with Victorian Velvet Ink.  I then glued them over the Early Espresso die cut so they would stand out.

The frame was cut with Natural White and Concerto card stock.  I used the Natural White inside piece for the inside of the frame, inking it with Victorian Velvet.  I popped the birdcage on the frame and them popped the frame on a piece of Early Espresso card stock.

The card base is made with Early Espresso card stock.  The Natural White mat is stamped with a "love you" sentiment (Short & Sweet - Stampin Up) in Dark Chocolate Ink then wrapped with Ivory Pleated Satin Ribbon (Really Reasonable Ribbon) with trim (Jo-Ann's) glued down the center of it. I popped both mats on the base with pop dots, then added a pretty bow with a pearl brad over the center to finish the card.

For my card, I used the Sweet Love Birdcage and the Sweet Love Frame CottageCutz Dies.

Hedgehog Gift Card Holder

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I have a quick post today with an adorable Hedgehog Gift Card Holder!  Wouldn't this be perfect for a boy's birthday gift?

I used the Large Confectionery Bag to make the pocket using Sports Mat Pad (K & Co) that is double sided with the orange on the inside.  The tag is the Fancy Insert Tag die cut with blue card stock.  I decorated it with the adorable Hedgehog Mini and Round Mini Balloons using scraps of black, browns, yellow, and orange card stock.  The sentiment is Teeny Tiny Wishes from Stampin' Up.  I inked the edges of the tag and all the die cut pieces with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and used Natural Jute from Really Reasonable Ribbon for tie on the tag.

Here's a photo of it inside the holder.

These are the CottageCutz Dies I used:

Majestic Morning Bouquet

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for some Heartfelt Creation inspiration!  I have another project this week with the Majestic Morning Collection, this time a card using the flower vase image from the Majestic Morning Bouquet Set.

I LOVE this flower bouquet image!!!  It's so beautiful and fun to color!  I colored it with my pencils and mineral spirits and then fussy cut it so I could pop it on the white Floral Oval die cut with the green oval die cut behind it.  I love the way it makes the image "pop" and creates its own shadow.  I also added Champagne Microbeads to the flowers centers.  Here's a close up of the image.

Behind the image is one of the card fronts from the Majestic Morning Paper Collection that I matted with purple card stock.  The card base is white, embossed with the Rosa Embossing Folder, and a piece of the gorgeous designer paper die cut with Labels 23 Grand Die.

Sweet Flourish

Happy Sunday everyone!

I have a new card for you today using one of the new CottageCutz dies, Sweet Flourish,  from the Sweet Love Release!

There are lots of dies in this new collection that I love, but I really like using this Sweet Flourish all by itself for a clean and simple look!  I cut the die cut and made the card base using Early Espresso Cardstock.  The mat is Cherish Designer Paper by Authentique that I cut so the flowered sentiment would be in the top right corner.  I then stamped a sentiment (Well Scripted by Stampin Up) on on the bottom right using Dark Chocolate Ink by Palette.   I added a small piece of Early Espresso to go across the card under the piece of lace trim, then the Sweet Flourish piece.  Petal Pink Liquid Pearls were added to the hearts on the Sweet Flourish, then a bow and pearl brad to finish.

Here's a close up of the Sweet Flourish for you!

Card recipe:

CottageCutz Die: Sweet Flourish
Stamp: Well Scripted (SU)
Paper: Early Espresso (SU), Cherish (Authentique)
Ink: Dark Chocolate (Palette)
Accessories: Petal Pink Liquid Pearls (Ranger), Rose Petal Seam Binding, lace sample (Really Reasonable Ribbon), Bow-Easy, pearl brad (Recollections)

For my first creation with this beautiful new release, I made a gift bag using the tutorial I did back in November.  The bag is made using the Labels 23 Grand Die.  Here is a picture of the front of the bag with the flower image from the Majestic Morning Bouquet Set.  Aren't the colors beautiful!

I colored the image with pencils and mineral spirits to match the beautiful designer paper from the Majestic Morning Paper Collection that you can see underneath.   I fussy cut the flower image to pop it over 2 of the decorative stems from the Ornamental Add-On Die cut with white card stock.  I also popped 2 extra flowers over the image using the Majestic Morning Background Set and matching Majestic Blooms Die.  To finish the flower I then added some Champagne Microbeads to the center which I thought went nice with the yellow flowers on the designer paper.

Here is a picture of the other side of the gift bag using more of the flowers from the Majestic Morning Background Set.

I also added some leaves using the Open Leaf Set and matching Classic Leaf Die under the flower, then one of the decorative lattice die cuts from the Ornamental Add-On Die.

For the sides and handle on the gift bag, I used a heavy trim, added a couple of bows and pearls, then added one of the tags from the designer paper using a narrow ribbon.

Cup of Latte and Boxwood Vine Wreath

Happy Thursday!

Today I have two projects to show you!  First, is a card using the Boxwood Vine Wreath die and stamps.

I cut the die pieces using pink, green, and brown card stock.  After cutting the banner in pink, I stamped it with the "Merry Christmas" stamp from the set in black ink.  The pieces were shaped and inked before assembling.  I arranged them all on a white snowflake embossed background to make it all pop.

The second project is a gift card holder that I made using the Cup of Latte and Fancy Envelope Dies. Here is one side with the latte cups.  (The green is a little brighter in the picture than it should be, it's actually the same green as in the card.)

Here is the other side with the flap and velcro enclosure.

The Fancy Envelope base is cut with Certainly Celery card stock.  The pieces are cut with white, pink card stock, and the Merry Little Christmas designer paper by My Mind's Eye.  I then added a little lace, twine, and buttons to embellish it.

These are the dies I used on my projects.

CottageCutz Dies: Fancy Envelope, Cup of Latte, Boxwood Vine Wreath
Stamp: Boxwood Vine Wreath
Paper: White, Certainly Celery (SU), Pink Diamond, Sugar n Spice, Fudgesicle (Coredinations), Merry Little Christmas (My Mind's Eye)
Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine), Victorian Velvet (Ranger)
Accessories: Snowflake #8 Embossing Folder (Sizzix), twine, lace, Bow-Easy, buttons, velcro
